Position Overview
Diamond Industrial Group is seeking experienced Industrial Welders to join our Mechanical Division. You will work on complex industrial projects including process piping, pipe fabrication, structural steel, and equipment installation across manufacturing plants, chemical facilities, and processing operations throughout Dallas–Fort Worth.
This is a hands-on position for skilled welders who take pride in precision work and want to be part of a dedicated industrial-only contractor. You’ll work with a stable crew of experienced professionals on a variety of industrial projects ranging from short-duration service work to larger, long-term projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform SMAW (Stick), GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and FCAW welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, welding procedure specifications (WPS), and P&ID diagrams
- Fabricate and install process piping systems per ASME B31.1 and B31.3 codes
- Perform fit-up, tack welding, and final welding of pipe spools, structural steel, and equipment supports
- Perform pipe welding in all positions, including 6G
- Operate plasma cutters, oxy-fuel torches, grinders, and other fabrication equipment
- Conduct visual inspections of welds and prepare welds for NDE (non-destructive examination)
- Maintain welding equipment and work areas in a safe, organized condition
- Follow all OSHA, site-specific, and Diamond Industrial Group safety protocols at all times
- Coordinate with pipefitters, electricians, and project supervision on multi-trade projects
- Perform light millwright tasks when not welding to move projects along
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 3 years of industrial welding experience
- Proficiency in SMAW and GTAW, experience with GMAW and FCAW a plus
- Ability to weld stainless steel and carbon steel pipe in all positions
- Experience reading blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding symbols
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Must be able to work in industrial environments (heat, heights, confined spaces)
- Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in various positions
Preferred
- Ability to pass a 6G Pipe Welding test (TIG and/or Stick)
- Experience welding with stainless steel and special alloys (Inconel, Hastelloy, Duplex)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Experience in chemical plants, refineries, or food-grade processing facilities
- Pipe fabrication experience a plus
